Dhaka, September 5, 2025: European Union Ambassador to Bangladesh Michael Miller held a courtesy meeting with Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman on Thursday at 11 am, as per a press release issued by the party. Accompanied by Deputy Head of Delegation Beiba Jerina, the ambassador engaged in discussions focusing on mutual interests between Bangladesh and the EU, with a special emphasis on strengthening Bangladesh’s democratic processes.
Both sides expressed optimism about fostering stronger future relations to support development and progress. During the meeting, Ambassador Miller inquired about the health of the Jamaat chief. The upcoming mid-September meeting between a high-level EU delegation and Jamaat-e-Islami was also discussed.
