Canada, Australia, and BRAC Unite to Combat Extreme Poverty in Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh – Through a powerful Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA), Canada, Australia, and BRAC are making significant strides in the fight against extreme poverty. BRAC’s innovative Ultra-Poor Graduation approach has transformed the lives of over 2.2 million women in Bangladesh, empowering them to build sustainable livelihoods and secure brighter futures.

During a recent field visit, Canadian High Commissioner Ajit Singh met with women who shared inspiring stories of resilience and transformation. The initiative, supported by the Australian High Commission in Bangladesh, focuses on breaking the cycle of poverty through skills development and job creation.

The partnership underscores a shared commitment to fostering economic empowerment and sustainable change for Bangladesh’s most vulnerable communities.
