Dhaka, September 3, 2025 — Stamford University has introduced Bangladesh’s first free Russian language certificate courses, marking a significant educational milestone. The initiative, supported by the Russian Ministry of Education, St. Petersburg State University, and the My History Fund, aims to provide accessible language education to all interested learners.
An Open Education Center has been established at the university, offering free Russian language courses to the public. The program was officially launched on September 3, 2025, in a ceremony attended by key figures, including St. Petersburg State University instructor Yulia Uchakina, Stamford University’s Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammad Yunus Mia, and University Treasurer Professor Mohammad Jeaul Hasan.
Other notable attendees included Mohammad Abdul Matin, Chair of the English Department, Registrar Associate Professor Dr. Mrityunjoy Acharya, Proctor Mohammad Aftab Uddin, and various faculty deans and administrators.
University officials highlighted that the program will create new opportunities for Bangladeshi students seeking higher education in Russia, fostering stronger academic and cultural ties between the two nations.
