Pakistan Reaffirms Commitment to Stronger Ties with Bangladesh

Dhaka, August 23, 2025 – Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar reiterated his country’s commitment to enhancing bilateral relations with Bangladesh during a meeting with a Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) delegation on Saturday evening at the Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka.

The BNP delegation, led by Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, engaged in discussions emphasizing mutual respect and shared interests. Dar highlighted the importance of revitalizing high-level dialogues between the two nations, recalling past engagements and Bangladesh’s key role in establishing the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). The talks also underscored the need for stronger regional cooperation. Earlier that day, Dar met with a delegation from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami to discuss issues of mutual interest, further signaling Pakistan’s intent to deepen ties with Bangladesh.
