Nepal Ambassador Meets Bangladesh Jute Association to Strengthen Trade Ties

Dhaka, August 25, 2025 – Nepal’s Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ghanashyam Bhandari, met with leaders of the Bangladesh Jute Association at the Nepalese Embassy in Dhaka on Monday to discuss ways to enhance trade and cooperation in the jute sector.

The talks focused on the potential of jute as a sustainable, eco-friendly product with growing demand in global markets. Both sides explored opportunities to boost exports, diversify jute-based products, and deepen bilateral collaboration to strengthen trade relations between Nepal and Bangladesh. Ambassador Bhandari emphasized the historical importance of jute to Bangladesh’s economy and called for joint efforts to unlock its global potential. The Jute Association leaders highlighted challenges such as limited market access and the need for modernization, while expressing optimism about new partnership opportunities. The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to promote innovation, investment, and policy support in the jute industry, aiming to deliver long-term economic benefits for both nations.
