Dhaka, August 2, 2025 – The Malaysian government has announced plans to allow a select number of Bangladeshi workers, who missed the May 31, 2024, entry deadline, to be recruited through Bangladesh Overseas Employment and Services Limited (BOESL), according to a statement from the Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur on Friday.
The recruitment will focus on the Construction and Tourism sectors. For the Tourism sector, Malaysian employers and stakeholders are required to submit necessary information via the Foreign Workers Centralised Management System (FWCMS) online portal, adhering to an official checklist. For the Construction sector, applications must be processed through the Construction Labour Exchange Centre Berhad (CLAB), which will forward documents to the FWCMS portal.
The announcement follows a warning from the High Commission about fraud rings targeting Bangladeshi job seekers, particularly those seeking employment in Malaysia’s Sabah province. These scammers have been collecting passports and money under false pretenses, despite no official agreement or Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) existing for worker recruitment in Sabah. The High Commission urged job seekers to remain vigilant and use only official recruitment channels to avoid falling victim to such scams.
