Chinese Ambassador Meets Bangladesh Health Adviser to Strengthen Health Sector Cooperation

Dhaka, July 30, 2025 – Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh, H.E. Yao Wen, met with Ms. Nurjahan Begum, Adviser to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, to discuss enhancing China-Bangladesh cooperation in the health sector. The meeting, attended by senior officials from the Ministries of Health, Foreign Affairs, and Finance, focused on deepening bilateral ties in medical and health initiatives.

Ambassador Yao highlighted the robust partnership between the two nations, driven by the strategic guidance of their leaders. He emphasized China’s contributions to Bangladesh, including emergency medical rescue, hospital unit construction, medical supply aid, and technical exchanges. “These efforts have injected strong momentum into our Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership,” Yao said, reaffirming China’s commitment to furthering health cooperation for the benefit of both nations’ peoples.

Adviser Nurjahan Begum expressed gratitude for China’s longstanding support in the health sector, particularly praising the rapid deployment of a Chinese medical team of burn experts to assist victims of a recent jet crash in Bangladesh. She described the gesture as a testament to the deep bond between the two countries and expressed optimism about elevating health cooperation to new heights.

The meeting underscores the growing collaboration between China and Bangladesh, with both sides committed to advancing health initiatives for mutual benefit.
