Türkiye Commits to Supporting Bangladesh’s Defence Industry Development

Türkiye has pledged its support for the advancement of Bangladesh’s defence industry, with a focus on fostering cooperation in modern military equipment production and advanced defence technologies.

During a courtesy call on Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman at the Army Headquarters on July 8, 2025, Prof Haluk Gorgun, Secretary of Defence Industries of Türkiye, assured extended collaboration to bolster Bangladesh’s defence sector, according to an army notification.

The meeting saw both sides exchanging greetings and exploring ways to strengthen the existing defence ties between Türkiye and Bangladesh. General Waker-Uz-Zaman expressed keen interest in partnering with Türkiye to develop cutting-edge military equipment and enhance Bangladesh’s defence technology capabilities. This commitment underscores the growing defence cooperation between the two nations, aimed at advancing Bangladesh’s self-reliance in defence production.
