Turkey's Defence Industry Agency Chief Meets Bangladesh Chief Adviser Yunus

Dhaka, July 9, 2025 – Professor Haluk Görgün, head of Turkey's Defence Industry Agency, along with his delegation, met with Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Wednesday at the state guest house Jamuna in Dhaka, according to the Chief Adviser’s press wing.

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral ties, with discussions likely centered on defense cooperation between Turkey and Bangladesh. Further details of the talks were not disclosed.

In other news, Bangladesh has retained its position as the world’s second-largest apparel exporter in 2024, trailing only China, according to data from the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Meanwhile, heavy rainfall has caused severe flash floods in Cox’s Bazar, inundating over 80 villages, while a Chittagong University student drowned at Himchari, with two others reported missing. In Feni, the Muhuri River’s water level has risen 137 centimeters above the danger mark, causing breaches in seven locations along its embankments.
