Palestinian Ambassador Meets Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer in Dhaka

The Palestinian Ambassador to Bangladesh, Yousuf Saleh Y Ramadan, paid a courtesy visit to Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman at his office in Bashundhara, Dhaka, on Sunday morning.

During the meeting, Ambassador Ramadan inquired about Dr. Shafiqur’s health, prayed for his recovery, and expressed gratitude to the people of Bangladesh, particularly Jamaat-e-Islami, for their steadfast support and solidarity with the Palestinian cause, according to a press release.

Dr. Shafiqur reaffirmed Jamaat-e-Islami’s unwavering commitment to Palestine, strongly condemning the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza. He highlighted reports of tens of thousands of deaths, extensive destruction of infrastructure, and worsening famine, urging the United Nations, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the international community to take immediate action to stop Israel’s occupation plans. He emphasized that Palestine must achieve full independence as a sovereign state. The Palestinian envoy thanked Bangladeshis for their heartfelt support and cooperation, expressing hope that this solidarity would continue in the future.
The meeting was attended by several Jamaat-e-Islami leaders, including Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Dr. Syed Abdullah Md Taher, Assistant Secretary General Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Jubayer, Dhaka North Ameer Mohammad Selim Uddin, and Foreign Affairs Adviser Prof. Dr. Mahmudul Hasan.
