Sweden Issues Warning to Students: Entry Prohibited Before Residence Permit Validity

The Swedish authorities have issued an important advisory for international students planning to enter Sweden or the Schengen area. Students are strictly prohibited from entering before the validity date of their residence permit takes effect.

According to the advisory, the residence permit card is only valid from the date specified on the permit. Students attempting to enter Sweden with a residence permit card that is not yet valid will be denied entry at the Swedish border and required to return to their point of origin.

The announcement aims to ensure compliance with immigration regulations and avoid disruptions for students. Authorities urge all students to carefully check the validity dates on their residence permits before planning travel to Sweden or other Schengen countries.
