Dhaka, August 21, 2025 – Bangladesh and Pakistan have finalized a bilateral agreement allowing visa-free travel for holders of official and diplomatic passports, the Advisory Council announced on Thursday. The decision was approved during a meeting chaired by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus at the Chief Adviser’s Office in Tejgaon, Dhaka.Shafiqul Alam, Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser, shared details of the agreement at a press briefing held at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital. “This agreement aligns with similar arrangements we have with 31 other countries,” Alam stated. “It will remain valid for five years, enabling holders of official and diplomatic passports from Bangladesh to travel to Pakistan without visas, and vice versa for Pakistani officials.”
Abul Kalam Azad Majumder, Deputy Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser, confirmed that the Government of Pakistan has already given its consent to the agreement. The move is described as a standard diplomatic practice aimed at facilitating travel for government officials between the two nations, strengthening bilateral ties.
