Nepal Envoy Highlights Youth Potential as Key to Bangladesh-Nepal Bilateral Progress

Dhaka, July 31, 2025 – Nepalese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ghanashyam Bhandari emphasized the pivotal role of youth in fostering a safer, more inclusive, and sustainable future for both Nepal and Bangladesh. Speaking as the Chief Guest at a seminar jointly organized by the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) and the Department of Global Studies and Governance at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) on Wednesday, the ambassador called for collaborative efforts to harness the region’s youthful energy.

Addressing a diverse audience of academics, policymakers, and students, Ambassador Bhandari underscored the opportunities presented by the “youth bulge” in both nations. He urged Bangladesh and Nepal to invest in young people as catalysts for transformative change, both domestically and in strengthening bilateral relations.

The ambassador highlighted the growing involvement of youth in policy formulation, digital innovation, climate action, and social justice movements. He also stressed the importance of promoting entrepreneurship and grassroots innovation to drive sustainable national development, particularly as both countries approach their graduation from Least Developed Country (LDC) status. The seminar served as a platform to explore pathways for deeper regional cooperation through youth empowerment and innovation, fostering dialogue among stakeholders committed to shaping a progressive future.
