The Indian team, dispatched following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s offer of assistance, emphasized India’s readiness to provide medical equipment, rehabilitation support, and expedited treatment in India for those injured in the July 21 crash in Dhaka’s Uttara area. “India is willing to extend any further support that Bangladesh may need,” the lead doctor stated, highlighting options for advanced care in Indian facilities.
The team, comprising two burn specialist doctors and two nursing assistants from RML Hospital and Safdarjung Hospital—India’s leading institutes for burn recovery and plastic surgery—arrived in Dhaka on July 23. They have conducted four rounds of consultations at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (NIBPS), expressing satisfaction with the institute’s arrangements and treatment protocols. The team is set to return to India on Monday after a final review of critical patients.
