The first air shipment of Bangladeshi fresh mangoes to China was celebrated at a departure ceremony attended by H.E. Mr. Yao Wen,(on 28 may 2025) Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh. The event marked a significant milestone in bilateral trade between the two nations.
In his speech, Ambassador Yao highlighted the growing economic ties and the potential for further agricultural cooperation. The ceremony was also attended by H.E. Mr. Sk. Bashir Uddin, Adviser to the Ministry of Commerce, H.E. Mr. Mohammad Emdad Ullah Mian, Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, and Mr. Md. Anwar Hossain, Vice-Chairman and CEO of the Export Promotion Bureau. Representatives from Chinese and Bangladeshi import-export companies, Chinese businesses in Bangladesh, and media outlets, including Xinhua News Agency, China National Radio, and prominent Bangladeshi media, were present at the event. The export of Bangladeshi mangoes to China is expected to boost local farmers and strengthen trade relations, opening new avenues for agricultural exports.
