Dhaka, July 22, 2025 – The Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh has donated a batch of COVID-19 testing kits to the Government of Bangladesh, responding to an urgent request from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The donation aims to ease the burden on local medical institutions amid ongoing testing and treatment challenges.
The handover ceremony was attended by Counselor Li Shaopeng of the Chinese Embassy and Md. Halimur Rashid, Line Director of Bangladesh’s Communicable Disease Control (CDC). Counselor Li emphasized that the emergency aid reflects the strong health cooperation between China and Bangladesh, underscoring China’s commitment to the vision of a "Global Community of Health for All." He expressed hope that continued collaboration would bring further benefits to both nations.
Md. Halimur Rashid thanked the Chinese government for its consistent support in the health sector, calling China Bangladesh’s "most reliable friend." He highlighted the donation as a testament to the enduring friendship between the two countries.
