Bangladesh and Malaysia Police Strengthen Ties in Bilateral Meeting

A high-level bilateral meeting between Bangladesh Police and the Royal Malaysia Police was held to enhance collaboration in tackling cross-border crimes and other areas of shared interest. The meeting took place on Wednesday (July 30) at the Hall of Pride, Police Headquarters in Dhaka.

Leading the Bangladesh Police delegation was Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam, BPM, while the Royal Malaysia Police delegation was headed by Azman bin Abd. Razak, Director of the Counter-Terrorism Division. The Malaysian team comprised seven members.

The IGP extended a warm welcome to the Malaysian delegation, emphasizing the deep-rooted friendship and cooperative ties between Bangladesh and Malaysia. Discussions centered on critical issues such as counter-terrorism, human trafficking, money laundering, and other mutual concerns. Both parties agreed to bolster their partnership through enhanced intelligence sharing and timely coordination.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including Director General of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) AKM Shahidur Rahman, BPM, PPM; Additional IGP of Special Branch Md. Golam Rasul; Additional IGP (Crime and Operations) of Police Headquarters Khondakar Rafiqul Islam, BPM, PPM; and other senior police officers.
