Dhaka — The Russian House in Dhaka commemorated the International Day of Solidarity with Journalists on Tuesday, 16 September 2025, with a program dedicated to honoring the ethics, courage, and unwavering pursuit of truth in journalism.
The event opened with the inauguration of a memorial exhibition titled “Killed for the Truth”, paying tribute to journalists worldwide who have lost their lives in the line of duty. The exhibition also featured compelling photographs captured by war correspondents, offering a stark portrayal of the profession’s inherent risks.
In a segment aimed at students, Russian House officials presented detailed information on higher education and scholarship opportunities in Russia, outlining pathways to study at Russian universities, available funding programs, and the application process.
The commemoration concluded with the screening of two documentaries — “Beslan 2004–2024”, reflecting on two decades since the Beslan school tragedy, and “Russophobia: A History of Hate”, a historical examination of anti-Russian sentiment.
As in previous years, the Russian House reaffirmed its tribute to journalists and celebrated the courage required to stand firmly for the truth.
