Dhaka, August 22, 2025 – Ms. Corinne Henchoz Pignani, Chargée d’affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Switzerland, emphasized the transformative power of knowledge, technology, and innovation in advancing sustainable development during her speech as the Special Guest at a SAJIDA research dissemination event.
“Pursuing knowledge, technology, and innovation-based solutions opens new paths for advancing sustainable development. These solutions reduce poverty and address other socio-economic challenges in low-income countries,” Ms. Pignani stated. The event showcased findings from ENGAGE4Sundarbans, a Switzerland-funded research initiative focused on fostering inclusive, community-led solutions. Operating in both rural and coastal areas, the project promotes food security, agroecology, and collective action to tackle environmental and social challenges. Ms. Pignani also underscored Switzerland’s long-standing commitment to supporting community-driven innovations to combat climate change in Bangladesh, highlighting the nation’s role in fostering resilience and sustainable progress.
