Pakistan Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthening Ties with Bangladesh

Dhaka, August 23, 2025 – Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, reiterated his country’s commitment to enhancing bilateral relations with Bangladesh during a meeting with a delegation from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Saturday evening.

The discussions, held at the Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka, were attended by a BNP delegation led by the party’s Secretary General, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. The Pakistani foreign minister emphasized fostering ties based on mutual respect and shared interests.

The meeting underscored the significance of regional cooperation, with both sides acknowledging Bangladesh’s key role in the establishment of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). They also stressed the importance of reviving high-level dialogues between the two nations, building on past engagements. Earlier in the day, a delegation from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami met with Ishaq Dar to discuss matters of mutual interest, further highlighting efforts to strengthen diplomatic ties.
The meetings reflect a renewed focus on deepening Pakistan-Bangladesh relations through dialogue and cooperation.
