Bangladesh Delegation Visits China to Boost Investment Opportunities

A high-level government delegation from Bangladesh has embarked on a visit to China to attract foreign direct investment (FDI), a press release announced on Sunday, July 20, 2025.
Led by Ashik Chowdhury, Executive Chairman of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) and the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), the delegation includes senior officials from BIDA and BEZA, as well as representatives from the banking sector, including HSBC, Standard Chartered Bangladesh, and Citi NA. Speaking before the departure, Ashik Chowdhury stated, “We have observed significant interest from Chinese investors regarding this visit. We are prepared to provide them with the necessary information and support.” The delegation will participate in multiple meetings in Shanghai and Guangzhou from July 20 to 26. A key highlight of the visit is a business seminar in Shanghai on July 21, jointly organized by BIDA and the Bangladesh Embassy in China. The event is expected to draw over 100 Chinese investors and representatives from sectors such as electronics, textiles, agriculture, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and medical equipment.  
The visit underscores Bangladesh’s efforts to strengthen economic ties with China and promote investment opportunities in key industries.
